Prep Time:

Cooking time:

Ingredients:

Crust:

● 200g (about 2 cups) digestive biscuits or graham crackers, crushed
● 100g (7 tbsp) unsalted butter, melted

Filling:

● 500g (2 cups) cream cheese, softened
● 200g (1 cup) granulated sugar
● 250ml (1 cup) heavy cream
● 3 large eggs
● 80ml (1/3 cup) Amarula cream liqueur
● 1 tbsp vanilla extract
● 2 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for extra firmness)
Topping (optional):
● 1 cup whipped cream
● Drizzle of Amarula liqueur
● Chocolate shavings or caramel sauce

Cooking Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

Set your oven to 160°C (320°F) and grease a 9-inch springform pan. For easy removal, line the
bottom with parchment paper.

Step 2: Make the Crust

In a medium bowl, combine your crushed biscuits and melted butter until well mixed. Press the
mixture firmly into the bottom of your prepared pan, creating a solid crust layer, then set aside.

Step 3: Prepare the Filling

1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sugar until the mixture is
smooth and creamy.
2. Add the heavy cream and mix until fully combined.
3. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition to ensure a smooth
texture.
4. Stir in the Amarula liqueur, vanilla extract, and, if you prefer extra firmness, the
cornstarch. Mix until everything is fully integrated and smooth.

Step 4: Pour and Bake

Pour the filling over the crust and spread evenly. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until the center is
slightly jiggly but the edges have set. Once baking is done, turn off the oven, crack the oven
door, and allow the cheesecake to cool inside for an hour to prevent cracking.

Step 5: Refrigerate

Transfer your cheesecake to the fridge and let it chill for at least 4 hours or, even better,
overnight for the creamiest texture.

Step 6: Top and Serve

Before serving, spread a layer of whipped cream over the top, drizzle with a little more Amarula
for added flavor, and garnish with chocolate shavings or caramel sauce for a beautiful finish.
