1. Unpacking Your Fridge
Once your KIC fridge has been delivered, carefully unpack it. Remove all packaging materials,
including plastic wraps, tapes, and protective coverings. Check for any damage that might have
occurred during transport. If you notice any issues, immediately contact the retailer or KIC customer service.
2. Let Your Fridge Stand Upright
After transporting your fridge, allow it to stand upright for at least 4-6 hours before plugging it in.
This waiting period helps the refrigerant to settle and ensures the compressor operates
correctly. Skipping this step can result in performance issues and potential damage.
3. Clean the Interior
Before stocking your fridge with food, give it a thorough cleaning. Use a solution of warm water
and mild dish soap or a mixture of water and white vinegar. Wipe down all interior surfaces,
including shelves, drawers, and door seals. Rinse with clean water and dry with a soft cloth.
This removes manufacturing residues and ensures a fresh start for food storage.
4. Level Your Fridge
To ensure efficient operation, make sure your KIC fridge is level. Use a spirit level to check and
adjust the leveling feet if necessary. A level fridge prevents doors from swinging open or closing
unevenly and helps the cooling system work efficiently.
5. Set the Temperature
Plug in your fridge and set the temperature. For optimal food preservation, set the refrigerator
compartment to around 3-5°C (37-41°F) and the freezer compartment to -18°C (0°F). Allow your
fridge to run for a few hours to reach the desired temperature before adding any food.
6. Organize and Stock Your Fridge
Once your fridge has reached the desired temperature, start organizing and stocking it with
food. Place perishable items like dairy and meats in the colder sections, typically the lower
shelves and the back of the fridge. Use the crisper drawers for fruits and vegetables to keep them
fresh longer.
By following these simple steps, you’ll ensure your KIC fridge is ready to provide you with
reliable and efficient service for years to come. Keep it cool!
